The only difference here was that Flutterbat couldn't communicate, just hiss.

But if the ending foreshadowing was anything to go by, this means that the only reason she couldn't talk was she was too infused with the bats' desire to eat fruit.

So while blood bats may not be accurate, looks like all your fruit bats are canon possible.
